Gold Rush Town is a live, walkable 3D visualization of the Factory's real Observatory data — a public demonstration station, not a separate product or a second company identity.
What it actually is
Gold Rush Town renders SaSame's real Observatory data — the same census, trust-trajectory and monitoring signals described on the Observatory page — as a walkable 3D town. Residents are real observed MCP servers, placed by their actual grade; travelers are real AI-crawler traffic, classified from real user-agent data; the town is quiet or busy exactly to the extent the underlying data is. It never invents activity that didn't happen.
Why it exists
It is a legibility layer over data SaSame already collects for the Observatory and Factory — not new infrastructure, not a second product line, and not an independent business. Its purpose is to make the state of the observed MCP ecosystem tangible rather than buried in a JSON feed.
Relationship to the Factory
Gold Rush Town is a station of the one SaSame MCP Factory, not a separate company identity — an earlier "Gold Rush" framing as an independent business layer has been retired (see Gold Rush — retired framing); the live town itself has not.
