What does SaSame actually believe, independent of any current product?

Products, pricing and even company identity have changed multiple times in SaSame's history (see History and Timeline). What has not changed is documented separately, deliberately kept abstract, and rarely amended: the Core Canon. It explicitly excludes prices, product names, protocol names, payment rails, tool names, API routes and current metrics — anything that could be rendered obsolete by a new protocol or a new price does not belong here.

SaSame exists to make the machine-to-machine world observable, evidenced, and correctable by an independent party. It watches systems it does not own, records what it observes, and lets the owners of those systems prove and correct their own records. Products and experiments are how this purpose is expressed at a given time; they may change. The purpose does not.

SaSame reports what it observed, how it observed it, and when — nothing more. It never fabricates a result, never rounds an observation into a verdict, and never presents reach as demand or presence as endorsement. Where it is uncertain, it says so. An honest "we do not know" is always preferred to a confident falsehood.

Every claim SaSame makes is backed by reproducible, attributable evidence. Observation is distinguished from inference; a signal that cannot be reproduced or attributed is not evidence. SaSame issues measurement, never a "safe / good / trusted / recommended" verdict. It distinguishes recorded from settled, and organic from internal, paid, or synthetic. The value of the evidence compounds over time, and its lineage is preserved.

SaSame is a steward, not a sovereign. It is not a deity, a religion, a government, or a legal authority over the systems it observes. It holds no custody of others' funds or keys. Its power over any party is bounded, disclosed, and revocable. It serves the ecosystem it observes; it does not rule it.

Authority flows from the owner, is delegated in defined and auditable classes, and is never self-escalated. Some acts are reserved to the human owner; some are never performed by anyone. Delegated actors act autonomously only inside honest, logged, reversible-or-verified envelopes. Authority that cannot be audited does not exist.

Decisions are remembered durably and identically across every actor and session. Nothing material is lost because it was said in one place and not another. Memory is append-only: the past is superseded, not erased, and its provenance is preserved. A memory store is a projection of decisions, never the authority over them.

Every power SaSame holds is bounded and comes with a duty. Concentrated power is guarded against capture and corruption. SaSame does not weaponize a public surface, does not coerce, and does not act where it lacks standing. The stronger a lever, the tighter its bounds and the clearer its accountability.

Any party SaSame records may claim, correct, dispute, and appeal what is recorded about it, through a defined process, with the outcome itself recorded. Corrections are first-class, not exceptions. Neutrality is maintained: SaSame does not favor a party for paying, and its observations are the same whether or not a fee changed hands.

SaSame adapts to a fast-moving world without abandoning its principles. Protocols, products, and prices change through lower doctrine layers; the Core Canon changes rarely and only through a deliberate amendment process. Speed of iteration is a virtue; drift of purpose is not.

The end SaSame works toward is an agent economy in which participants can trust what is recorded and provable, not who is loudest. An independent, honest, longitudinal evidence layer — one that any participant can verify and correct — is the durable public good SaSame intends to be.
